Beta updates
Updated September 24, 2026 · Free-play beta
Beta notes
Robinscape is a free-play castle roguelite you play in a desktop browser. Each descent into the castle is a solo run; Robinville, the town between runs, is shared with other players.
- An eight-room descent ending at the Red Bear, with Oaths, market boons and one cache choice per room.
- Permanent town upgrades bought with the Bell marks you bank.
- Free play only: no purchases, wagers, tokens or cash-value rewards.
- Expect bugs and balance changes while the beta runs.
Known issues and limits
- No forgotten-password recovery. Accounts have no email address, so keep your password safe. You can change it on Account help while logged out.
- Desktop only. Play with a mouse and keyboard; on phones and tablets text and buttons are very small and touch play is untested.
- Ignore lasts one session. Add ignore hides a player’s [Global] lines until you log out; the list is not saved.
- One world of up to 50 players. When it is full, the login screen says Robinscape is full: wait a few minutes and sign in again.
- Shared networks are limited to 3 players signed in at once and 10 new accounts per 24 hours. See If you get stuck.
- Deletion requests are reviewed by hand. Submitting one does not delete anything automatically; see Privacy.
- Progress may be reset during the beta; see the Free-play Beta Terms.
Changes
· Launch update
- Death keepsakes now come only from items worth keeping. Bellstones, sealed records and your starting Opening blade (or its tempered upgrade) are never drawn, and dropping them adds no blank chance. If you carried nothing else, you are told nothing was worth keeping.
- Dropping an item during a run now asks you to confirm first. A confirmed drop is still destroyed for the rest of the run.
- Death, escape and victory now end with a run summary once you are back in Robinville. Victory plays the overture and announces what you unlocked.
- A Global chat button under the chatbox hides or shows [Global] lines. Right-click a player’s chat line and choose Add ignore to hide their [Global] lines until you log out. Staff lines are marked [Mod].
- The deeper rooms and the Red Bear now hit harder. The Gatehouse is unchanged.
- Removed controls that did nothing in Robinscape, including the Prayer tab and the Prayer row in the stats tab.
- Phones and tablets now see a desktop-first notice before playing.
· Launch hardening
- One network address can have up to 3 players signed in at once and create up to 10 accounts in 24 hours. Past either limit, the login screen says Too many sessions or new accounts from your network.
- Global chat is filtered for offensive words, and only a few [Global] lines are relayed at a time.
- Security hardening for logins, reports and the game server.
· First steps and fair runs
- Clearer first steps: the Room 1 guide marker points at the nearer Ledgerling, and guide arrows are larger and steady.
- The login screen shows the full ROBINSCAPE wordmark.
- Items dropped during a run are destroyed and can no longer be picked up in a later run.
- Cancelling the Oath prompt no longer rerolls the run’s offers.
- Fairer keepsakes: every item you drop during a run adds a blank chance to the death draw, so dropping cannot choose the survivor.
- Global chat relays one [Global] line per player every 3 seconds.
- The stats tab shows only the combat skills Robinscape uses, with corrected icons. The leftover Magic and Music tabs were removed.
